CBD is the acronym for Cannabidiol, a natural component of Cannabis Oil and Hemp Oil that is extracted from the plant. The international definition of hemp (as opposed to cannabis) was developed by a Canadian researcher, Ernest Small, in 1971. Scientists at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco determined that a combination of CBD and THC has a more potent effect than either compound alone when tested on brain and breast cancer cell lines. Extensive clinical research has demonstrated that CBD combined with THC is more beneficial for neuopathic pain, and that both CBD and THC stimulate neurogenesis, the creation of new brain cells.
